February 18,2014 - new additions

Made 2 new additions to my blush collection. MAC Petal Power. MAC Azalea in the Afternoon.

I just couldn't help myself.

It has been quite a while since I made a MAC purchase, besides foundation and eye brow pencils.

I used MAC Azalea in the Afternoon today and loved it.

In other news...

I've pulled out a few items that I want to concentrate on using up...bronzer, concealer, face powder, a blush...that I have hit pan on and just sitting in my collection for too long.

Also since I've started saving my empties, February seems to be the month of empties. I know I don't usually have this many on a regular basis.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

I was very skeptical about this at first, but I was desperate. I never had problems with my lips. I would just slather on just some regular Chapstick at night and be done with it. The past few months my lips have become very chapped and peely. I tried a few other lip balms and treatments but nothing did the trick. I tried the Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, it did help but the results didn't last. If I used it in the morning, by the afternoon my lips were back to being peely.

Then I tried the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. And it changed my life.

I have only used this about 3 weeks but I can tell a great difference. I put this on at night before I go to bed. (and sometimes in the morning before I leave for work) My lips are more plump and not chapped and peeling at all. I even see a difference in the lines on my lips. They are still there just not as prominent.

I don't think of this as a mask. It's just like a lip balm to me. When I think of mask, I think of a face mask, something you need to put on then remove.

On the Sephora website it says you can leave on and wear at night or anytime.

I can remember not using it for only one night and I felt the difference the next day.

I'm not a fan of the packaging, but I can't think of a better/different way that this can be packaged. I have read other reviews of the tube tearing. This has not happened to me yet but I am now super careful when squeezing the tube.

Overall this has quickly become a staple in my daily routine. Holy Grail status. Even though it's a bit pricey at $26, I will definetly repurchase this when the time comes.

let's talk hair

Tonight I got my hair cut and highlighted.

Since I was 14 (& I'm almost 30 now😬) I have been color treating my hair. Blonde. I don't really remember my natural hair color. Dirty blonde? Light brown? Maybe.

Tonight I got a full head of highlights. No low lights. Which is my favorite look on me.

When I was in high school and college I used box dye. L'Oreal Preference Whispersoft Blonde. It was my RIDE OR DIE!! Then I finished school, found a job, and started making money. Then I started getting my hair colored professionally. And discovered the world of foils. lol In my early twenties I experimented with a little color. Did a few red highlights. A bit of black. But at about 26, I met my stride with a full head of blonde highlights. And never looked back. Every few times I go I get a few lowlights. But mostly blonde.

But on my ride home I got to thinking, is it time to stop? Go back to my natural color? I feel like I should. I'm older now. My 30th birthday is a few months away. I feel like I should stop with so much blonde in my hair.

But then I think a darker (my natural) hair color on me would not be a good look for me.

Maybe I'm just so used to being blonde.

Maybe I just needed to talk it out with myself.

I'm glad I started this diary thing because this was originally going to be made into a bunch of twitter posts.

So. Thoughts? Go darker as you get older? Or keep on keeping on?

diary February 1, 2014

It has been quite a while (as in years) since I've even thought about blogging. I keep up with the blogs I follow but I just stopped keeping up with mine.

I recently started following a few new to me bloggers and I see that they write a 'diary entry'. Just something quick and easy. And I really like reading those posts. And it has put me in the mood to start writing those kinds of blog posts. They are more relaxed and less formal blog posts.

And I'm about being relaxed and less formal.

So with the beginning of the month of February I will start my diary entries. It probably won't be every day but I'll definetly try and post once a week.

And since I've discovered the blogger app, I will more than likely be doing this from my iPhone or iPad. So no fancy stuff here.

I plan on just writing about the things I like, hauls, and empties. Since those are the kinds of blog posts I like to read. And maybe a monthly favorites thrown in too.

I've even started keeping my empties!!
